Offcanvas Section

You can publish whatever you want in the Offcanvas Section. It can be any module or particle.

By default, the available module positions are offcanvas-a and offcanvas-b but you can add as many module positions as you want from the Layout Manager.

You can also add the hidden-phone module class suffix to your modules so they do not appear in the Offcanvas Section when the site is loaded on a mobile device.

The Law Office of Laurence Beckler, PLLC represents individuals and companies with corporate matters to support their operational needs, which may include forming corporate entities, drafting and negotiating transactional documents, and handling sales or mergers of those entities. My Firm holds to a single purpose; to assist in enabling clients to succeed at their businesses. The standard to which my Firm consciously holds itself is to earn a client's confidence on the first matter and to keep earning that confidence on each subsequent assignment. My Firm focuses on each client's specific tasks to accomplish projects in a manner most appropriate to each client's unique needs and circumstances.

The Firm devotes a substantial segment of its attention to two very different industries; the advertising industry and the alternative investment industry. Surprisingly, the legal documents required by both industries are not too dissimilar. Documents with which the Firm has in-depth experience include, but are not limited to, purchase and sale agreements, merger agreements, employment agreements, and operating agreements as well as a broad array of software licenses, web hosting agreements, promotional agreements, sponsorship agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and maintenance and support agreements. Mr. Beckler also has experience with a number of marketing and licensing issues associated with technology companies and startup ventures. Finally, Mr. Beckler represents both plaintiffs and defendants with issues that are just short of commercial business litigation and has negotiated and executed severance and separation agreements by and between parties that have ceased an employment or business relationship.

Mr. Beckler continues to serve as outside general counsel for over thirty advertising agencies and marketing firms, both traditional and interactive, handling general business and commercial matters. The practice also regularly counsels clients regarding trademark and copyright issues, and provides technology and intellectual property advice in the context of a variety of corporate transactions. Recently, the Firm has handled a wide range of issues related to promotional sweepstakes and contests, social media marketing and mobile marketing platforms. Finally Mr. Beckler has experience with a wide variety of technology related transactions including software licensing and distribution, joint ventures, strategic alliances, internet and website agreements.

For the past decade, the Firm has assisted hedge funds ranging from start up funds to funds with valuations over $4B in AUM. The Firm has negotiated and managed vendor agreements with over 350 vendors in the hedge fund industry including but not limited to licenses, subscription agreements, research agreements exchange agreements, broker agreements (internationally) and NDAs. The Firm has also reviewed and negotiated portfolio manager agreements and assisted with setting up branch offices in Boston, San Francisco, Hong Kong and London.

In January, the Journal, a publication of the New York State Bar Association, published Mr. Beckler’s article on vendor agreements titled “Gotcha!” The article (which can be found by clicking here), focuses on the different ways a vendor can take advantage of a client’s naiveté with certain legal issues. Though the article focuses on the Firm’s alternative investment clients, the vendor traps apply to any and all vendor service contracts.

Hiring a law firm can be an extremely personal and emotional choice as the decision is largely based on the core competency of the attorney and a personality "fit" between client and lawyer. My Firm is uniquely positioned as one of the very few small law firms that can boast a core competency in the advertising industry. As far as personality goes, we can cross that bridge after we have had the chance to meet.
